On this photo I used spot removal on some scars on the arm of Senior, Jerry Castro.

I used tone curve to adjust the light and shadows in this photo. It was very dark originally.

Landscape Preview

Working with the golden hours is my favorite tip.

Tip 1.Find a point of interest.

Tip 2. Work with time. Sunrise and sunset are great times to take photos.

Tip 3. Look for reflections.

Mount Bonnell is a great place in Austin to take photos. So is the
Red Bud Isle and Lady Bird Lake.

Flash Photography Basic Concepts

Every flash photograph is two exposures in one. There is ambient light exposure and a flash exposure.

Fill flash can be used when the subject is backlit or side lit to eliminate silhouettes or shadows.

Flash exposure is not affected by shutter speed. The flash exposure and the effective range of your flash unit will be affected by aperture and ISO settings, but NOT the shutter.

Flash illumination is dramatically affected by distance.

Your camera measures ambient light and flash illumination separately.

With automatic flash metering. the flash illumination is measured after the shutter button is pressed, and the flash output is adjusted accordingly.

Every SLR camera with a mechanical shutter box has a maximum flash sync shutter speed.

Harsh lighting, washed out subjects and red eye can be eliminated by using diffusers and light bouncing.

It is possible to change the order of when the flash fires using "Rear Curtain Sync."

Removing the flash from the top of the camera helps eliminate red eye and unflattering shadows.

Spring Challenge

1. Smashing magazine, Celebration of High Speed Photography

2.

3. I would need a timer flash and a camera

4. To color what ever needed to be dropped. And make sure the background is nice and dark. And have my flash set up properly.

5.An extremely big shutter speed, with adjustments to lighting and ISO, using sequence mode and a separate flash.

6. Define drops and lines, brighten and contests the colors.
